Bajaj, the renowned motorcycle manufacturer is about to launch it’s most anticipated bike ‘Pulsar 200 NS’ in India, by the end of May. The bike was seen tested on roads in and around Pune. Demo bikes were given to many riders and commuters and their feedback were analysed. As a result, there will be several upgrades in the final production model. The most critical one will be the replacement of the 35 watt headlamp with a 55 watt unit.

Front section of the new Pulsar 200 NS has been enhanced. Due to higher lateral stiffness, the perimeter frame allows better handling, quick and sharp cornering stability. The bike's chassis is made up of a steel perimeter frame and a rectangular tube section swing arm. This combination allows the bike to have a higher torsional rigidity. Low and central Centre of Gravity (CG) position is attained due to the superb Nitrox monoshock and the low slung central muffler.

Weight distribution in the ratio of 50:50 enables better straight line and high speed stability.

Unmatched mileage, reduced emissions and better performance is promised by the coveted Triple Spark (TS) technology.

TS together with a 4 valve powertrain provide excellent throttle response, acceleration and power at all speed levels. The rear mudguards too will receive a matte finish instead of existing shiny finish. Bajaj is taking all these measures to ensure that the bike is able to get a decent position in the Indian market.

According to the sources, the automotive giant is planning to release the next-generation Pulsar towards the end of May and deliveries will commence from the beginning of June. The bike was exhibited by the company in 2012 Auto Expo, since than it has received several enhancements. Production of the bike has already kicked off and is expected to command huge demand. As per reports, the Pulsar 200 NS will cost below Rs.1 lac.

This bike will be the first launch from the company in the series of next generation Pulsars. There are ongoing rumours about a powerful Pulsar in the range of 350cc-375cc, which may be launched next year. A high power variant of the Pulsar 200 NS is also possible sometime in the future. The present bike is equipped with a single cylinder engine with 199.5 cc at its displacement. It comes with a carb and three spark plugs technology. The engine delivers 23.17 bhp and torque of 18.3 Nm. Top speed attained by the bike is 136 kmph, and it accelerates from 0-100 kmph in less than 10 seconds.
