      Owning a sportsbike is a dream for every ardent bike lover. While some are content with domestically manufactured motorcycles, which have efficient performance figures, others aim to move on proper speed cruisers like Honda CBR1000RR and Suzuki Hayabusa. Such bikes display no magnitude of speed and are meant to be driven like a lightning thunderbolt. Indian auto market has an adequate demand of such vehicles and global companies are constantly striving hard to lure buyers with their unique designs. Notably, 2014 will witness the advent of some sportsbike that are sure to turn some heads.

      In the upcoming league, Hyosung will be launching its two models, namely GV250 Aquila and GD250. While the former happens to be a cruiser bike equipped with a 250 cc engine, latter is a street racing bike fitted with the same capacity engine. The company will showcase its product under the joint venture with DSK Group. Reportedly, both the models will be launched in the range of Rs. 1.6 lakh to 1.9 lakh and will certainly be admired by Indian auto aficionados.

      Furthermore, legendary bike maker Harley-Davidson is all set to launch its low-end range of Street bikes, named Street 500 and Street 750 in the country. Not much time has passed when the company elated its fan base with this news and all eyes are peered into the final unveiling of these products. Both models will be manufactured at its Bawal plant in Haryana and will be offered in the range of Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. The Street range is highly acclaimed worldwide and is known for its exemplary performance. It is very certain that these bikes would continue their fame in India as well.

      Giving stiff competition to Harley-Davidson, its rival Indian Motorcycle would be foraying in the domestic market next year. The company's iconic Chief range comprising the low-end model of Chief Classic, mid-model Chief Vintage and high-end Chieftain will be showcased in the country. These models will be brought to India as Completely Built Units (CBUs), and therefore, are expected to bear a hefty price tag in the range of Rs. 12 lakh – Rs. 14.5 lakh.

      Also, prominent bike makers like Yamaha and Honda will be launching their R25 and CBR300R models. Latter is considered to be the successor of ongoing Honda CBR250R, whereas former will aim to accomplish same feats that Yamaha R15 achieved a couple of years ago. The duo are aiming to dominate sportsbike segment and will even compete with each other. In the range of Rs. 2.3 lakh to Rs. 2.5 lakh, these models are expected to provide an enthralling ride experience.

      Keeping up with the trend, Kawasaki has recently launched its top-notch models Z1000 and Ninja 1000 in the Indian auto market. Both are powered by a massive 1043 cc engine and are priced heavily at Rs. 12.5 lakh. The heavy muscled motorcycles are an addition to the existing portfolio of the company comprising 4 other models. Kawasaki aims to have a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) assembly for its product in India and for that it needs to sell at least 150 to 200 units of its bike. Experts believe that If these numbers are accomplished, Indian roads will be witnessing such superbikes largely.
