Premium German automaker Mercedes Benz seems to be planning on expanding its portfolio with a range of interesting power packed machines. The company has reportedly been working a newer version based on AMG GT that could be named as Mercedes-AMG GT R. Sources have indicated that the company may introduce the new model sometime by the end of 2016.
Under the hood, the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT R is believed to be powered by 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that could likely generate about 496bhp of power and 650Nm of torque. Exact specifications are not known for now, but it is believed that the vehicle may be capable of doing a 0-100km/h in just under 4 seconds and may achieve a top speed of around 320km/h.
More details about the vehicle are not known as the company chooses to be tight-lipped about the vehicle for now. Going by anticipation, the Mercedes-AMG GT R could get slighter lighter than the GT and be offered with all modern safety amenities. The pricing and other details may be known later.
