The Indian carmaker has recently begun the production for the Zest sedan at its popular Pune facility. Tata Motors has faced a lot of criticism in the past over its outdated looks and not-so-modern technology. The upcoming Bolt hatchback and Zest sedan are expected to aid Tata Motors in reclaiming its hot-spot in the sedan and hatchback segment. The sedan shall also be available in a diesel variant and shall be powered by a VGT 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine that generates about 89 Bhp. Both the engines have been mated to a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission gearbox. The Automated Gear Shifter feature on the diesel version shall earn Zest the title of being cheapest automatic diesel sedan in the country. Tata Zest has been made a reality owing to valuable design inputs received from three Tata Motors design studios located in Coventry (UK), Turin (Italy) and Pune (India).
