      Tata Motors, the brand that has been ignored for a while by the buyer lot in country is due to come out strongly with its upcoming Zest sedan and Bolt hatchback. The Indian auto giant Tata Motors has thrown open the bookings gates for the Zest sedan which is due to be launched soon. Post launch of the Zest sedan Tata reportedly has also been working on Bolt hatchback launch soon after. Tata Bolt is said be based on the Vista platform, but technologically the car has undergone a complete overhaul. Tata Motors has spoke about its 1.2 AMT petrol Revotron turbocharged variant on its official site and has also stated that Bolt shall offer three switchable driving modes namely - City, Eco and Sports. News has been doing rounds that Maruti Suzuki's popular hatchback Swift may also be launched in a new avatar in the last quarter of this year.

      Tata has stated that the upcoming Bolt shall be powered by 1.2 Litre MPFI Turbocharged petrol Revotron engine that impressively generates about 83 bhp of power at 5000 rpm with 140 Nm of torque at 1750 - 3500 rpm. The power-train has been combined to F-tronic automated manual transmission. For safety, Tata Zest comes with good safety features like ABS, EPAS, speed sensitive power steering and Active Return function. As for entertainment factor the Bolt shall come incorporated with some of the segment first features like a five-inch infotainment system. Moreover, Bolt may also receive, an infotainment and audio acoustics system, that has been exquisitely designed by HARMAN. Navigation and location based services system have been developed by MapMyIndia. Other vital features like wire technology for enhanced engine response, tweaked suspension works in symbioses with zero pivot subframe for improved and effortless ride.

      Tata has bestowed its new design language philosophy, ‘DESIGNEXT’ on Bolt. The front section of Bolt sports the Tata’s new signature style grille that has been built in tandem with the ‘Humanity Line’ philosophy that compliments with the sporty head lights. Similarity could be seen inside the cabin with Vista, though Tata has revivified comprehensively such as black and optional colour combination shade, redesigned steering wheels, silver trim inserts, restyled instrument cluster with integrated multi-information display, reworked A/C vent design among others.

      As for the new upcoming Swift, major technical changes would not be present this time around and the changes have been restricted to being cosmetic in nature. The existing motor in this car is refined and responds well to feet-tapping on the accelerator pedal owing to 16-valve light weight DOHC technology. The petrol version delivers a decent fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl. The upcoming version is expected to carry current generation Maruti Suzuki Swift's 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine, whereas the diesel variant shall be powered by the existing 1.3 litre engine. T The diesel version has got a 5-step Multi Injection Common Rail system the delivers better fuel efficiency figures and performance. Moreover, the car loaded with Turbocharger and Inter-cooler Combination delivers higher torque, efficient combustion and cleaner emission. The diesel version delivers an impressive mileage of 22.9 kmpl.
