Porsches new diesel Panamera claims to be worlds quickest diesel production car

While the earlier generation car was never offered in a diesel engined all-wheel drive version, that’s going to change in the new car. Let’s talk more about the new diesel Panamera. Under the hood is the 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo diesel motor that produces 422bhp between 3,500rpm and 5,000rpm, and delivers an impressive 850Nm of torque from as low as 1,000 rpm.

Transmission duties are carried out by Porsche’s eight-speed PDK gearbox that helps get all that power transferred to all the wheels. These specifications enable the Panamera 4S Diesel to march to 100kmph in 4.5sec, and a reach a top speed of 285kmph. There’s also an optional sport chrono package which makes the car post faster times to 100kmph, and is a great achievement when you understand that the 4S diesel weighs in at 2,050kg.

Porsche claims that the Panamera 4S Diesel is now the quickest diesel production car in the world, and also their most powerful diesel production car. More on the new Panamera in the months to come, so stay tuned to CarTrade.
