Porsche AG recently launched its new Panamera model in the international market. The new model was expected to take Porsche’s brand image to new levels of quality and performance. However, the company has an embarrassing situation in hand now as it had to recall every Panamera in various international markets.

Porsche’s new Panamera models seem to have faulty seat belt mounts. Panamera seat belt mounts could fail when the front seats are adjusted in an extreme forward position which increases the risk of injury or death, says the NHTSA press release. The problem actually affects only a small percentage of drivers or front passengers who are very short. The belts could potentially fail when the seats are adjusted to an extreme forward position, putting riders in a dangerous situation.

Porsche belongs to Volkswagen Group and the management does not look too happy with current developments. VW is expected to take quick action as it could have an effect on them as a brand.
