The current generation of Porsche Macan was internationally revealed in the year 2013. Four years later, the crossover is speculated to undergo a facelift and is expected to receive cosmetic and interior upgrades as a part of its midlife update. Confirming these speculations are spy shots of the test mule which seems to be the production-ready version of the updated Macan.

The prototype of the new car suggests that the updated design will now carry new bumpers and revised daytime running lights. The design of the taillights also appears to have received some tweaks. The dashboard was also masked which suggested that there were a few updates on the inside too. The infotainment system is likely to be upgraded with the new setup that debuted in the 2017 Panamera.

The engine is not expected to get any updates and should have the same 2.0-litre V6 power plant producing 252bhp. However there is possibility is that we may see a plug-in hybrid option, likely to be mated to the V-6 with an electric motor integrated with the transmission. However, it can be speculated that the Macan will be offered with a new diesel power plant for efficient concerned buyers in the Indian market.

The updated Macan is expected to break cover by early 2018 and will be dubbed as the 2019 model. And post its launch, the Macan will continue its rivalry against the Jaguar F-Pace.
