Porsche launches 718 Cayman and Boxster in India

The new 718 Cayman and the Boxster are powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which replaces the older 3.4-litre, six cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Though there a bit of downsizing here, the Cayman claims to generate an additional 90Nm of torque over its predecessor, while the Boxster also witnesses a considerable rise in torque figures. Mated to seven-speed automatic PDK gearbox, the 2.0-litre engines produce 298 bhp and 380Nm of torque which allows the vehicle to do 0-100kmph in just about 5.1 seconds. The top speed for both cars has been restricted at 275kmph. To deliver best handling, the new models are offered with retuned chassis, a wider front and side air-intake with side skirts for aerodynamics.

For freshness, the new 718 Cayman and the Boxster get bi-xenon headlamps with integrated four-point LED daytime running lights, larger air-intakes and ceramic brakes. Inside, it gets Porsche Communication Management system with an eight-speaker music system and 918 inspired sports steering wheel. The vehicles continue to be offered with multiple airbags, while the 718 Boxster is offered with a Vehicle Tracking System Plus (PVTS+) as standard.
