Perrera, 53 years of age, will report directly to Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India. From now on, he will be directing almost all of Porsche India’s After Sales related activities, comprising crafting new technical expertise, hiring of qualified and skilled workforce, training them amongst others. Perrera will also be responsible for management of spare parts inventories, Porsche vehicle warranty processes across the country and other similar logistics related activities.

Expressing his delight at appointment of the company’s new After Sales Head, Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India, was quoted as saying, "Kapila Perrera brings with him a wealth of experience in the automotive service environment. With his extensive know-how, he will be a valuable asset, as we set about building a solid service foundation for the Porsche brand in India."

As per reports, Porsche India’s new After Sales Head has an immense service experience and aptitude in the field already. For instance, Kapila Perrera has served as After Sales Manager for Porsche Centre situated in Kuwait, for four years between 2003 and 2007. Later, he worked as the Head of After Sales and operated with a workforce of 1200 across 24 dealerships, for Zubair Automotive in Oman.

Evidently, Porsche is a relatively new brand in the country as compared to its fellow German players like BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi. Therefore, Perrera has a tough mountain climb ahead of him that includes setting up of a solid after sales service infrastructure for the Porsche marque in the country. Reportedly, Porsche India witnessed sales of 51 vehicles in the domestic premium luxury sports car segment during November 2012, while its total sales in October - November period stood at 144 units.
