For a while now news had been doing rounds that Porsche has been working on a car that delivers enhanced driving experience and more than recording lap times. As per fresh spy shots doing rounds all over the Internet, the car in question would well be the new Porsche 911 R that may be launched sometime in 2016. The 2016 Porsche 911 R is believed to be based on the carmakers GT range.

Though the official specs are nor known for now, it is believed that under the hood, the Porsche 911 R may get a 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine mated to seven-speed manual transmission that would generate about 468.5bhp of power at 8,250 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. Though the vehicle shares a lot of resemblance to the 911 family-line, the rear and front fascias have received a more aggressive look, owing to larger air-intakes in the front and closely spaced exhaust tips at the back.
