French automaker Peugeot who is due to arrive in India within the next 3 years has unveiled the 308 sedan at the 2016 Chengdu Auto Show in China. This is their B-segment vehicle and is an alternative body style to the popular and better known hatchback model.
The 308 sedan is 4.25-metres long with a wheelbase of 2.60-metres. The engine options include a 1.2-litre and a 1.6-litre diesel in various states of tune. Gearbox options include a six-speed manual as well as a six-speed automatic. The design is typical Peugeot with a chrome grille, sporty bumpers, sweeping roofline and split LED tail lamps.
We believe that this will be one of the products in Peugeot’s product lineup when it comes to India around 2018-2019. It will slot into the C-segment and compete with the Honda City, Nissan Sunny, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. It will be offered as an alternative body style to the 3008 crossover.
Moving inside, we can see a black and grey combination with a flat bottom steering wheel as well as a driver oriented dashboard. Standard features appear to include climate control, touchscreen infotainment system and a variety of driver aids.
