Supercar lovers had a gala time last week as the seventh edition of the Parx Supercar show was conducted at the RWITC, Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai. Day one of this super car bonanza was an exceptionally super day for the car enthusiasts of Mumbai. On the other hand, day two witnessed around 100 supercars taking the following route – Turf Club – Haji Ali – Peddar Road – Babulnath – Chowpatty – Marine Drive – Nariman Point – Marine Drive – Peddar Road – Haji Ali – Worli Sea Face – Sea Link – U Turn under the Bandra East Flyover – Sea Link – Worli Sea Face – Haji Ali – Turf Club.
Those people who were not lucky enough to pay a visit to this super car show, the cars, which were displayed, were Nissan GT-R, The American Hot Rod, Ariel Atom V8, Lamborghini Aventador, Rolls Royce Drophead, Aston Martin DB9, BMW M3 and Lamborghini Huracan.
The show-stopper, however, was LaFerrari, which occupied a separate area within the enclosure with its signature Rosso Corsa paintwork. The LaFerrari is the first car to be launched with the F1 derived hybrid solution – the HY-KERS system, which has combined the power of an electric motor – producing more than 161 bhp. Combined with it is the classic V12, 6262 cc engine, which produces 789 bhp. The total power production of this monstrous mill is 950 bhp, which jet speeds the car to 350 kilometres per hour. The car reaches 100 kilometres per hour in an astounding 3 seconds with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automated manual transmission.
