Hindustan Motors, a part of CK Birla Group, has made an agreement with Japanese auto maker Mitsubishi Motors, under which it will see the launch of an automatic version of Pajero Sport in the next fiscal year. Pajero Sport happens to be a premium sports utility vehicle and it would be interesting to see its impact on the Indian market, once introduced.

As reported by Economic Times, C K Birla, Hindustan Motors Chairman, at the company's annual general meeting that was held at Kolkata recently, said, “The company has finalised an agreement with its long time collaborator Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Japan to launch an automatic version of the renowned SUV Pajero Sport....” He also said, “It has also been decided to launch another model from Mitsubishi stable. Both the launches are slated for next fiscal.” Notably, the manual variant of Pajero Sport was introduced back in March 2012. This sports utility vehicle turned out to be a success for both, Mitsubishi Motors and Hindustan Motors. Some other premium vehicles that are present in the Indian product portfolio of Mitsubishi Motors are Outlander, Montero and sedan 'Cedia'.
