Among the most notable changes made in the new version, inclusion of Multibeam LED head lamps that adjust the distribution of light more aptly than before is included. The Multibeam LED head lamps come embedded with 24 separately curbed LED’s that can be reconciled up to 100 times in a second through a camera placed subsequently with the windscreen and four control units. Yet another advantage of this system is that it senses the incoming traffic and vehicles in front and automatically modifies the intensity of the light beam, hence protecting other car drivers from the abrupt dazzling. Besides this, the camera can also detect turns in the route and turns on the Multibeam LED head lamps well in time. Among its multiple features, the system also senses the upcoming roundabouts via a navigation data.

Speaking on the same, Dr. Thomas Weber, Mercedes R&D boss said, “With Multibeam LED technology the headlamps now are able to react even more quickly, more precisely and individually to changing traffic conditions. On top of this, there are expanded functions of which a driver will become directly aware, such as anticipatory camera-based curve recognition with the active light function. With such features Mercedes-Benz once again is demonstrating its role as an innovation leader in the automobile industry.”
