Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, is all set to launch the Verna facelift in the Indian car market on February 18, 2015. The bookings for the sedan have already commenced at a token amount of Rs. 10,000. The new Verna mid-sized sedan gets changes to both styling and mechanism.

Talking about exterior design, the updated Hyundai Verna gets new front fascia. The sedan has new grille which is complemented by restyled headlamps that can accommodate projectors. It is equipped with new fog lamps with LED strips surrounding them. At the rear, the updated model features restyled tail lamps with integrated LEDs and bumper with new integrated reflectors. The side profile of the sedan remains unchanged; however, the wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the Verna facelift might get new additional features. Talking about mechanical changes, the outgoing Verna saloon gets new steering wheel from Elite i20 hatchback to offer better driving experience. The current model is heavily criticized for its handling and steering feel. Adding to it, the suspension mechanism has been tweaked to tackle pot holes in a better way.

The Verna facelift would continue to feature the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engines. Power is transmitted to the front wheels of the sedan via a six-speed manual transmission gearbox. The four-speed automatic gearbox is likely to be offered in the upcoming model; however, the maker might also introduce the six-speed automatic gearbox.
