      Official-Fiat Punto Evo launching on August 5

      Fiat India is gearing up for launch of its re-christened hatchback Punto Evo in domestic market. Italian auto giant, Fiat has officially proclaimed launch of Punto Evo in India on August 5th in India. Fiat had already started dispatching facelifted Punto to dealerships lately hinting at the launch of the vehicle to be happening soon. The hatchback’s updated range will include seven trim levels-Active Dynamic, Emotion and Sports.

      Intricate changes have been made to Punto Evo on exterior and interior fronts. Cosmetic changes have been made to the exteriors of the hatchback, front fascia bears similarity with Avventura crossover. Among the most prominent changes made to the front fascia a revivified front grille, wrap-around head lights and fog lamps are included. Tweaks made to the interiors of Punto Evo are similar to the one seen in the updated version of Linea. While Active, Dynamic and Emotion variants will get two tone colour scheme inside the cabin, Sports variant will sport all black colour scheme.

      No changes will be made to the mechanical set up, both petrol and diesel variants are expected to come powered with the same powertrains as in its predecessor. Petrol Punto will be offered in two engine options-a 1.2 litre gasoline engine churning out 67 Bhp and high displacement 1.4 litre petrol mill engendering 89 Bhp of maximum power. Diesel range of Punto will get the 1.3 litre Multijet engine outputting varied power states of 75 Bhp and 90 Bhp. Power will be channelized to front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Safety features including automatic door lock, central door locking, door open indicator, fire prevention system and Immobilizer with rolling code will be offered as standard across the range. Additional safety features like anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, dual airbags will come equipped in top end version.
