A cash reward of Rs. 50,000 was earlier announced by the Delhi and Haryana police for lead on Manoj who belong to Bakarwara village. Rajkumar and Jaidev live in Uttar Pradesh and had come to the location to collect the stolen car. All three of them have been sent to police custody for 10 days by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vinod Yadav. During these 10 days, police will investigate the whole matter about trio’s involvement in carjacking incidents. The CMM has given order that during the interrogation process, Manoj Bakarwara should be handcuffed as a precautionary measure as the carjacker wounded a sub-inspector last year.

In the past, Manoj Bakarwara had managed to escape on three different occasions. On 20th June 2011, he fled from the custody of Haryana Police. According to Kampani, DCP (special cell), “His associate Pradeep and girlfriend Tina, who is an MBA student, befriended a policeman who was taking Bakarwala back to Haryana jail and convinced him to travel in their car.”

The Delhi Police arrested Manoj for the very first time regarding auto-theft in the year 1998. He was thrown behind bars yet again in 2003 for the same crime. Apart from these cases, the Delhi Police had held him on two more occasions. In the year 2007, Manoj met Parveen who later assisted him to escape from the custody of Haryana Police. After this incident, the duo has been a part of numerous car theft cases. With the nabbing of the notorious carjacker, police is positive on resolving majority of the 300 cases related to carjacking, theft and attempt to murder in which Manoj Bakarwara was allegedly involved.
