The Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Nissan Motors has said that they will be studying the Indian auto market before rolling-out new car models in the country.

The company has indicated that they will be launching new small car below the price segment of Nissan Micra, where the car is expected to be rivaling with the likes of Maruti Wagon R, A-Star and Hyundai i10. However, the company is yet to reveal the pricing and specification details of the car.

Speaking to PTI Nissan Motor India Managing Director and CEO Takayuki Ishida said, "We are studying all market requirements and will introduce products appropriately. There are no concrete plans yet for such an introduction. Our aim is to be present in all segments in India."

He added that the company is studying the demands and needs of the Indian customer and will priorities the type of vehicle to be introduced.

In year 2011, the company managed to sell a total of 33,000 units of their vehicles in the country and planning to register a considerable growth in the current year.
