Nissan India, subsidiary of the Japanese auto giant Nissan, has decided to increase the prices of some of its India portfolio models by up to 2 percent. From January onwards, the hatchback Nissan Micra and petrol version of sedan Nissan Sunny will get expensive by up to 2 percent, as per a statement given by the company. The decision of price hike was taken after the depreciating value of rupee made the imports of components considerably expensive.

As per the industry sources, the company has already finalized the proposed hike in the prices of these cars. The prices of the recently rolled-out diesel version of the Sunny will remain unchanged, as the company wants to keep the price of this newly launched car as competitive as possible. Moreover, the firm looks forward to give a strong opening to this car in the Indian market. However, in case of Micra hatchback, both petrol and diesel versions of the car will be included in the price hike.
