Nissan has told reporters that their next EV is likely to be a crossover.
This comes at a time when the car maker has just stated its intention to launch their redesigned Leaf by the last quarter of 2017. Daniele Schillaci, head of sales, marketing and the electric car division at Nissan, has added that the company is now focusing on electric crossovers. This is mainly because it embodies the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility features. Just so that we are on the same page, Nissan Intelligent Mobility stands for Nissan’s vision on connectivity, electrification and self-driving capability.
Everybody knows that Nissan is currently working on a concept that is believed to be an electric car. The vehicle, code-named the Vmotion 3.0, is expected to be showcased at a motor show sometime this year. It is apparent that Nissan wants to exploit the prospects offered by both the booming crossover demand and the future electric vehicle requirement with this electric crossover. If the company offers a competitive electric crossover before others in the segment, there’s a strong chance that it will bring them volumes, and the related revenue. Stay tuned.
