Usain Bolt, the fastest man alive on the planet, is set to dazzle the worldwide audience with his automobile engineering skills (Yes!) in collaboration with the Japanese auto giant, Nissan Motor Co. Bolt who has been scorching the global track events for the past five years will auction off a custom built and gold painted Nissan GT-R for his own charity initiative under the namesake - Usain Bolt Foundation (UBF).
Reportedly, the development came as Nissan wanted to honour Bolt's contribution to the race sports and his zest for the automobile industry. Further, the auction of the 'Bolt' GT-R has been scheduled to take place on eBay and some intense action is anticipated among the car enthusiasts, in order to get their hands behind the wheels of the unique car. The proceeds from the auction will then be used for UBF’s initiatives towards creating cultural and educational opportunities for the young children of Bolt's native home Jamaican.
Expressing his excitement at the Usain Bolt's inclusion at their drafting tables, Toshiyuki Shiga, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Nissan Motor Co, said, "Nissan shares the spirit of excitement that captivated worldwide audiences at the Olympics. There is no-one better qualified than Usain Bolt to help us translate that spirit into great experiences."
The Nissan GT-R is considered an automobile engineering marvel and one of the fastest production sport cars available on the planet. Accordingly, the Nissan's 'Bolt' GT-R and double Olympic gold medallist Usain complement each other perfectly to the highest levels and the association is believed to go around for many years. The powerhouse GT-R comes with a mammoth V6 3.8 litre, 3799 cc, engine with two parallel turbochargers and the assembly churns out a whopping power-torque equation of 474 bhp and 588 Nm, respectively. The car zooms through 0 to 100 kmph in just a breathless 3.5 seconds and boasts of a top speed of 311 kmph.
Further, Nissan Motor Co has appointed Bolt as it’s 'Director of Excitement' and the fan following of both the brand seems to have been going week in their knees with a state of utter disbelief and adulation. It has also been revealed that Usain is going to lend a helping hand towards many other limited edition models of Nissan vehicles that will find their way in different international markets.
