Earlier, Nissan officially revealed each and every detail of Terrano and as told, the car will be offered in petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol variants of Terrano shall be equipped with a 1.6-litre MPFI engine that would give away 102 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel version will be powered by a 1.5-litre K9K DCi engine that would be offered in different trim levels that have variable power outputs of 83 bhp and 108 bhp. The 5-speed manual transmission will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants of Terrano while availability of an automatic gearbox is uncertain as of now. In case of colour options, Terrano would be available in 6 different colours namely pearl white, blade silver, sapphire black, sterling grey, bronze grey and fire red. The compact SUV of Nissan will be offered in XE, XL, XL(Plus), XV and XV (Premium) trim levels.

Although the appearance of the Terrano is similar to its sibling Duster but credit must be given to Nissan for distinguish its appearance from the Renault vehicle. The Nissan car bears a more masculine appearance owing to its aggressive front style and re-styled tail gate. Talking about features of Terrano, the top-specification variant is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensors, rear air-conditioning vents and dual air bags. However, it would have been better if the company had given away steering mounted audio controls and touchscreen audio system on the car.

In terms of price, the company did not provide any substantial information regarding the price of Terrano but it told that the car would be offered under Rs. 10 lakh. Putting this into context, the expected ex-showroom price for the base petrol variant could be around Rs. 9 lakh. With the launch of Nissan Terrano, competition in the compact SUV segment will get stiffer. This model from Nissan will square off against the likes of Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport as both these models have done remarkably well for their respective companies. As the festive season has begun in India, industry experts are betting high the sales of Terrano might pick-up during the initial stages. Also, it would not be surprising to see Nissan coming up with good statistics in October riding on the success of its compact SUV.
