Japanese carmaker Nissan has been a well known brand among the global automobile brands. The brand has always strived for perseverance and has successfully delivered cars that cater to diverse customer needs and demands across the globe. To further introduce technological advancements like automatic driving cars into their vehicles the company has teamed with NASA's Ames Research Center. The five year long research-and-development partnership is likely to bear fruitful results which would indeed allow autonomous vehicle systems to be utilized in upcoming commercial vehicles.
Speaking more on the occasion, Carlos Ghosn, Nissan chief executive, said, “The partnership brings together the best and brightest of NASA and Nissan and validates our investments in Silicon Valley.” The autonomous driving technology shall be introduced to customers sometime between the year 2016 to 2020. The safety sensors installed in the vehicle shall use the brakes automatically and also park the vehicle without requiring any driver’s intervention.
