Nissan Motor India has recorded sales of over 5,000 units consecutively for the third month owing to the success of the Datsun Redi-Go compact car. Nissan, along with Datsun, sold 5,918 units registering a growth in sales of a whopping 111 per cent over August 2015.

The Datsun Redi-Go has been instrumental in turning around the fortunes of the Japanese car maker, taking the fight to the competition in the cut-throat sub-compact hatchback segment which has stalwarts like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Nissan’s alliance partner Renault. The year 2016 is turning out to be good for Nissan with the car manufacturer being ranked second on the Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study undertaken by J.D. Power.

The Nissan line-up includes the Micra, Micra Active hatchbacks, Sunny and Teana Sedans and Terrano SUV. With the Terrano AMT to be launched soon, Nissan would be expecting to generate better numbers in due course. Datsun, on the other hand, is a comparatively new entrant and has focussed on budget cars. The Datsun Go and Go+ have done well in taking the brand to the market. The Redi-Go, based on the successful Renault Kwid, has been received well till now and Nissan will be looking forward to consolidate on the initial success.
