Nissan has recently discovered a problem with the front airbags that may fail to deploy in case of a crash situation. The problem seems to be due to a faulty software that fails to identify occupant seated in the front passenger seat. As per National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) the list for affected cars feature - 2013-2014 Altima and Infiniti Q50 from the sedan segment, Sentra from the small car segment and Pathfinder from the SUV segment. The list also includes 2013-2014 Leaf electric car; 2013 Infiniti JX35 and QX60 crossover vehicle, and the 2013 Nissan NV 200 cargo van.
