Nissan Micra Most Successful International Model

Suzuki models may be successful in the Indian market but it's the Nissan Micra and the Chevrolet Beat that are topping the sales charts internationally. Nissan Micra (or Nissan March as known in the international market) has hit the roof with its sales records. The car was launched in Thailand six months ago and has already crossed 54,000 customer sales there. it has already surpassed regional monthly and quarterly sales targets for the company.

In Thailand, Nissan Micra/March has already topped 25,700 units in six months which is 28 percent more than its yearly target of 20,000 units. Two months after its Japan launch on July 13, the orders there have reached 21,857 units as of September 13. This represents more than five times the monthly target of 4,000 units. For China, sales orders have reached 3,000 two weeks after the start of sales on August 30.

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) announced that it has registered total sales of 1249 of its automobile units for the month of August 2010 as against a miniscule 22 units in August the previous year. In India, it has received more than 4000 bookings since it first started its bookings on June 25th.

The Micra has been largely successful because of its good value proposition combined with a complete package of good features Comfort, Safety and fuel efficiency. This apart, the look and feel effect of Micra has also attracted its target audience," said Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director & CEO, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd
