      Nissan Micra -a Woman's car?

      Nissan is ready to launch its new small car Micra in India which will be a hatchback model. According to sources, the company shall soon also introduce the Micra Connect Special Edition which will be specifically designed for urban female drivers. Based on an online research, the company has developed a special version of Micra that is specifically designed to help women in traffic jams and is easier to park.

      The special version features new dashboard electronics, a voice-activated navigation system, GPS with parking and road condition information plus a separate feature that allows the driver to search for a fuel-efficient route. Other additional features incorporated in the special edition are Bluetooth support, USB connectivity, iPod and MP3 player. The new model is an extremely fuel efficient vehicle that features all four Nissan’s engine configurations ranging in between 1.2-liter gasoline 65 horsepower and 1.5-liter 86 horsepower diesel option.

      Nissan is ready to roll out the car in September and will be completely built in India. Nissan is already sourcing auto components from India for its overseas production as well. The complete production will be handed over to its Chennai plant sometime in mid-2010. Thereafter, it shall produce nearly 200,000 cars and will cater to demands from the European markets as well.
