Nissan Kicks revealed ahead of its official premiere

Nissan is planning to mark the world debut of the Kicks SUV on May 2. However, a series of pictures snapped in Brazil have been released revealing the external appearance of the Kicks.

This production version of the Kicks retains most of the styling and components as seen on the concept exhibited at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show. The aggressive styling is in line with other Nissan products and the butch stance makes it look sporty. The concept was 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,600mm in height. It had a long wheelbase of 2,620mm and if it is the same for this final version, it should make its cabin very spacious.

The crossover is based on Nissan's V-Platform that currently supports the Sunny sedan and Micra hatchback as well. The carmaker is yet to officially give out the interior and engine specifications. However, considering the Renault-Nissan alliance, we can expect the Indian-spec Kicks to be powered by the 1.5-litre K9K diesel mill from the Renault Duster.

The new Nissan Kicks will be launched in Brazil later this year. We can also expect Nissan India to launch it in our country sometime next year considering the demand for compact SUVs growing by a good amount.
