Nissan India, the Indian division of Japanese auto maker, has pulled off the curtains from its new edition model of Sunny Sedan, named XV special edition. Reportedly, the new special edition model is equipped with several additional features, including a rear parking camera with sensors, rear spoilers and cutting edge touch screen multimedia system. The model also features a number of updates at exteriors and interiors, ensuring that it stands apart from the regular version.

It must be noted that only cosmetic changes have been provided to the model, while the engine specifications are kept same. The petrol guise of the XV special edition is equipped with a 1.5 litre engine, which churns out a maximum power of 97 bhp with a highest torque of 134 Nm at 4000 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel version is also incorporated with a 1.5 litre power mill, belting out a maximum power of 84 bhp with peak torque at 200 Nm at a fairly low 2000 rpm.

In order to add to the performance of these engines, the auto maker has assimilated a five speed manual transmission system within both the guises. Industry experts believe that while keeping the under-the-hood specifications of the model same, the auto maker packed some of the additional features within the model, which justifies its higher price tag. During the past six months, the sales of Sunny have managed somewhere around 1900 units a month. Therefore, the auto maker is planning to boost up its sales with its new special edition model.

Following the launch of a new model, the auto maker is gearing up to garner a market share of 10 per cent in the Indian auto market, before the end of 2016. The company is currently operating at a market share of 1.6 per cent. In order to achieve this target, the auto maker is looking ahead at new launches and increasing its market presence in the country.
