      Nissan India attains more than 500,000 fan followings on Facebook

      Nissan, the well known Japanese auto manufacturer has managed to gain a huge fan following on the popular social networking site Facebook. Fan followings of Nissan have crossed a mark of 500,000. Nissan has emerged as the first auto company in India to gain such a response.

      The company initiated a campaign on Facebook by the name of ‘New Star of India’ on October 19, 2011. According to the terms of campaign, twenty lucky candidates will be provided a chance to perform with Ranbir Kappor, the Brand Ambassador of Nissan, in his upcoming film. Hence, the campaign received around 2300 short clippings of individuals wishing to perform with Ranbir Kapoor, the Bollywood Superstar. These auditions have been organised at shopping malls of India's major cities.

      Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Private Limited, said, “Nissan is all about innovation. It’s in the cars we build, the way we do business, the way we communicate. This campaign, with a winning line-up of Ranbir, Nissan Micra, and Facebook, has done wonders by catapulting Nissan India to the largest Facebook brand fan base among auto companies in India in about four months. We owe a big ‘thank you’ to all our fans and all the participants in the campaign".

      Soon after the launch of this campaign, the official page of Nissan witnessed few great moments. Film and auto aficionados gathered over Nissan India Facebook page to register themselves in largest online talent hunt of the globe. Through live Facebook auditions at the shopping malls in Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Aurangabad, and Hyderabad, this campaign was executed throughout the country.

      100 Nissan Micra cars were used during the shooting of the film for which the campaign was launched. At Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad, the shooting has been conducted.
