      Nissan & Datsun cars to get pricier from January

      Recently, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Hyundai and other auto makers have announced the increase in prices of their products in the Indian market. Now, Nissan, the Japanese carmaker, has announced an increase of price of its entire range of cars in India. The company has raised the prices of both Nissan and Datsun vehicles that will get effective from January 1, 2015.

      The prices of the Nissan cars will be increased up to 2.5 per cent, while the Datsun Go hatchback to be pricier by up to 3 per cent. Now, the Go hatchback will be costlier around Rs. 11,000, while the Nissan cars gets pricier up to Rs. 18,000. Currently, Nissan is selling Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia and the Terrano compact SUV in India.

      Commenting on price rise, Mr. Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd said, “We have increased prices due to rising input costs, although we are confident Nissan and Datsun vehicles will continue to offer excellent value and choice to our customers. Despite recent high inflation, the outlook for the Indian economy is positive.”

      Datsun only sells Go hatchback in India; however, the Go+ MPV is all set to hit Indian shores in early 2015. The Datsun Go+ is a sub-4 metre MPV, which was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, is expected to be priced under Rs. 5 lakh mark.
