      Nissan attains 185.6 percent jump in August sales, driven majorly by Micra and Sunny

      Nissan Motors India Private Limited (NMIPL), the Indian wing of the Japanese automaker is spearheading in the Indian auto market recording multiple growth in sales, evident with the achievement of a whopping 185.6 percent surge in its sales volume for the month of August this year. In August this year, the car maker clocked sale of 3,953 units as compared to the sale of 1,384 units registered in the same month in 2011.

      While speaking about the exponential growth recorded for the month of August this year, Mr. Takayuki Ishida, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, said, "It is extremely encouraging to see the made-in-India Sunny going from strength to strength within the market. Our commitment and focus is on introducing more locally-produced models that offer increased value to our customers."

      The major chunk in the high sales growth was attributed by the automaker’s flagship entry level sedan, Nissan Sunny and the bestselling premium hatchback, Nissan Micra pooling a substantial sale of 3,944 units. The rest of the chunk in sales was accumulated by the full size luxury sedan, Nissan Teana, muscular and robust SUV, Nissan X-Trail and the trendy and chic sportscar, Nissan 370Z.

      Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan’s solitary sales, service and marketing associate in the country is currently missioned to step up the sales gradually and is anticipating the sales to take a high flight with the onset of the festive season.

      Currently, the automaker is gearing for the mega launch of its new Chennai built MPV, Nissan Evalia, scheduled to be launched on 7th September this year at a price of Rs.7 to 9 lakhs.
