Japanese auto giant, Nissan Motor Company, has announced to launch its latest Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Evalia in the Indian auto market. The company has pinned great hopes with its upcoming MPV, which is anticipated to sparkle at the Indian shores on September 25, 2012. With a price tag of Rs. 7-10 lacs, Evalia promises to be an exciting member of the MPV segment, which is currently dominated by the Mahindra Xylo and Tata Innova.

The auto major showcased Evalia at the 2012 Delhi Auto Show, which was scheduled in January this year, and there Evalia was able to pull the masses across its stand owing to its stylish and charismatic appearance. It is speculated that the car will boasts of appealing interiors, which will offer ample space to its passengers. Reportedly, the car maker has stated that its new model will have four variants, namely Evalia XE, XE+, XL and XV.

It is believed that the new Nissan Evalia will hold a 1.5 liter K9K dCi engine, which will have a displacement of 1461 cc. The powertrain incorporated within the upcoming Evalia will be sourced from the French car maker Renault and will be mated to a five speed manual transmission system, which will improve the overall performance of the model. The performance oriented engine of upcoming model is expected to churn out an impressive power of 85 bhp with a peak torque of 200 Nm.

With Evalia, it is believed that Nissan will be aiming to strike the chords with Indian MPV enthusiasts and this comes at an instance when several multinational automobile giants are planning to dominate the Indian market.
