American car manufacturer, Ford will launch three new cars in the Indian car market in 2015. The all-new Ford Figo and Figo sedan will go on sale in early 2015, while the next generation Ford Endeavour will be launched by the end of 2015. The SUV is currently in final development stage at Ford’s Australian unit. Keeping the growing competition in mind, the company gives the new model premium look. Moreover, the mechanical bits of the SUV have been tweaked to offer improved drivability. Based on the Ford Edge design philosophy, the new model will rival against the likes of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Toyota Fortuner.
The production spec 2015 Endeavour largely resembles the Everest concept. At the front, the SUV has the hexagonal grille flanked by newly formulated headlamps. The sculpted design and massive front bumper adds sporty character to it. Based on the ladder frame chassis, the new model is expected to offer toughness and off-roading capability. Instead of the leaf spring layout, the upcoming SUV will sport an independent layout for improved handling and drivability. Adding to it, the SUV also sport a Terrain Response four wheel drive system.
The next Ford Endeavour is expected to feature the 2.2-litre and 3.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel units. Both manual and automatic versions of the SUV will be on offer. It will be locally assembled in India through the completely knocked down (CKD) kit route, at the company’s Chennai production facility.
