The Beat hatchback from Chevrolet's production line has been one of the most sought after vehicle in its segment in the country. As per fresh reports from sources, General Motors India has been working on heavily upgraded trim of the next-generation Beat that is expected to be launched sometime in 2017.
However, the new 2016 Chevrolet Spark is not expected to be launched in the Indian market. Speaking more on the occasion, company official stated, “The new Spark is a car for developed markets and the cost structure maybe too high to make it viable in the very cost-competitive Indian market.” As for the next-generation Beat, it is likely to be based on the current generation of Beat M300 platform.
Under the hood, the 2017 Chevrolet Beat is likley to be powered by 1.2-litre all-aluminium engine in petrol, whereas the diesel trim may be powered by a 1.0 Litre SDE engine. The sources have also hinted that the new trim might as well receive a 7-inch touchscreen as part of fresh upgrades. More details about the 2017 Chevrolet Beat will be known at a later date.
