The Sumo utility vehicle from Tata Motors had been a popular choice in its segment. The vehicle indeed is a hot favorite in the commercial segment. As per reports from sources, Tata Motors has been working on developing the next-gen Sumo that is likely to be up on sale sometime in 2018. The company is likely to discontinue the existing model by 2017.
The next-gen Tata Sumo is expected to be based on an all-new platform and may receive some inputs from the Land Rover's technology. The vehicle is likely to be lighter in weight and feature a smaller engine with similar power output. The new trim shall be designed and developed to meet the new crash-test norms.
More details on the tech specs and pricing aspect is unknown for now. But based on anticipation the vehicle is expected to be offered at a price tag of about Rs 6.0 – 9.0 Lakhs and is likely to be offered as a replacement to Movus. With better fuel efficiency figures and modern technology, the vehicle is expected to be a grand success post launch.
