Ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, interior spy shots of the upcoming vehicle have surfaced. The upcoming fourth generation model will replace the current model that was introduced way back in 2012. It is believed that the new model will be about 50kgs lighter in weight and get improved dynamics that will help achieve better fuel economy.
Based on what could be seen, the new Ssangyong Rexton will get a redesigned centre console and a new three-spoke steering wheel. The SUV test mule also sported an electronic parking brake system. The upcoming vehicle will also offer more creaturecomforts and premium upholstery in comparison to its predecessor. The vehicle might also get a large TFT screen on the dashboard and a larger boot space with a folding third row seat for extra luggage space.
Under the hood, the next-gen SsangYong Rexton is expected to continue being powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which generates 178bhp of power. The SUV might get a selectable all-wheel-drive system along with other safety features like lane departure warning, blind spot detection and airbags.
