The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. Armed with a new design language and larger dimensions, the new Santa Fe is expected to go on sale internationally late next year as a 2019 model.
Visually, the 2019 Santa Fe seems similar to the Kona and the Sonata. The curvy design has been binned in favour of a boxier rear section. The fascia features a square-ish grille with two sets of headlamps. It even seems to have grown dimensionally. Under the hood would be four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with reports suggesting a plug-in hybrid for the top-end variant. It will be offered in both front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions.
The current Santa Fe has been on sale globally since 2013 and in India since early 2014. It is the most premium SUV in Hyundai’s line-up and shares market space with other seven-seater SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Ford Endeavour.
