These are the very first spy pictures of the next-gen Honda CR-V. Caught on test in Michigan, USA, this forthcoming model is said to be noticeably bigger in size. Honda is clearly looking to make the CR-V more upscale among the rising competition.
In terms of design, the next-gen CR-V is likely to take notes from the HR-V and other recent Honda models. This means a sleeker and bolder looking design compared to the existing model. Going by the spy pictures, the CR-V does look like it’s longer than the current model – probably to accommodate the rumoured seven-seater version.
Mechanically, engines options are likely to change, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit as a possible option. A plug-in hybrid variant should be in the pipeline, too. We expect the next-gen CR-V to arrive globally by the middle of 2017.
