Reports have also suggested that the most interesting bit about the upcoming RS5 coupe will undoubtedly be the motor powering it. Audi is planning to use the group’s new 2.9-litre biturbo V6 in place of the naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8. This engine, developed by Porsche with inputs from Audi, makes 440bhp and 550Nm of torque in the second-generation Panamera 4S. In-line with the sporty nature of the RS5 coupe, expect Audi to tweak this motor with more performance in mind.

Also, the upcoming RS5 coupe will be based on the MLB Evo platform; the reason behind the substantial weight reduction on the latest A4 and A5 models. So, the same gains in weight loss can be anticipated with the RS5 coupe, which will definitely make it sportier to drive. Audi’s new RS 5 coupe should debut at some motor show in 2017, before being introduced globally by the first half of 2018.
