British sports car manufacturer McLaren has made an announcement regarding an upcoming model. McLaren confirmed that the new model in the Sports Series will be named 570S Coupe. Not only this, the firm has given a sneak peek into the design of its upcoming car by releasing a teaser image of its rear profile. A seemingly exciting prospect, this McLaren car will be introduced at the 115th New York International Auto Show.
Notably, the McLaren 570S Coupe is going to be the first model in the Sports Series from the firm. This is a part of McLaren’s three tier strategy for all its production models. McLaren 570S Coupe has the same DNA as cars from Super Series and Ultimate Series, which are above all other models from the British auto maker. This will also be the first time that McLaren has manufactured a car from the sports category that has race-derived technology. The naming of this car has been done on the lines of the McLaren 650S and in this model’s case, 570 represents the power it will produce (562 BHP).
The teaser image released by McLaren shows carbon-fibre scoop coming out of the rear wheel haunch, which is expected to be a part of its flying buttress design. Experts feel that this car is going to be top class in terms of aerodynamics and the teaser totally suggests so. The firm will be revealing more information in a few days’ time through a press conference.
