Everyone is ready for the Frankfurt Auto Show that begins today. Official pictures of VW Golf R have been leaked ahead of the Motor Show. The new model is pitted against Ford Focus RS, Mazda 3 MPS and Audi S3 and features exclusive VW’s 4Motion AWD system. Although the car is successor for the R32, however, it will not use its 3.2L V6 engine. It is expected to have 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 261bhp and around 258lb ft of torque.
Apart from the new Golf R pictures, new VW Polo was also caught testing at the Nurburgring which is expected to be launched later this year. “the company has made big strides with maintaining traction in a small but very powerful, front-drive car, by careful development of an electronically controlled “limited slip differential” that uses strategic applications of its front brakes to tame wheelspin,” says VW product boss Dr Ulrich Hackenburg. The same system is being used in Alfa Romeo Mito.
