Volkswagen's Bettle has been winning hearts across the globe for more than a decade now. News of a facelifted version in-works has been doing rounds for a quite a while now. Sources have now reported that the company has already imported several units of the new trim in the country, thereby hinting on a possible launch sometime sooner than expected. The new trim could be introduced in India via the CBU route and could be pitted against the recently launched Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione and the Mini Cooper.
As per sources, the new Bettle could be powered by 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine borrowed from the Jetta sedan. It is also believed that the new model could be based on Jetta's PQ35 platform. More styling and feature specs details are not available for now, but it is believed that the upcoming model could be more spacious and style loaded than the current generation. Unconfirmed reports have also suggested that Volkswagen may offer the vehicle in limited numbers.
