Post much wait, Toyota India will be finally launching the new Fortuner in November, this year. Earlier it was believed that the automaker will be launching the new model sometime in 2017, however, with the recent uplifting of ban on registration of over the 2.0-litre diesel engine in Delhi, the new model will be introduced in November. The new model is offered with a new design and range of cosmetic upgrades.

Under the hood, the new Fortuner will be offered with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre GD engine options which generate about 148bhp and 400Nm of torque, and 177bhp of power and 450Nm of torque respectively. Both the engines will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic transmission options. The four-wheel drive system is likely to be offered in a bigger engine variant. It is to be seen if the Japanese automaker will also introduce a petrol variant this time.

In terms of dimensions, the new model is about 90mm longer and 15mm wider than the current model and its height and wheelbase has been reduced by 15mm and 5mm respectively. Inside, you can expect leather upholstery and a large infotainment system located in the centre of the dashboard. In terms of design, the upcoming vehicle features a new slim grille design with chrome slat on each side. The sleeker headlamps with projector units and LED DLRs render it a sportier appeal. The bumpers have been redesigned and it gets round fog lamps with chrome accents. The reduced roofline and LED tail lamps gives it a modern approach.
