After the marginal success of the Tata Indica Vista, TATA has decided to come up with its new version of TATA Indica Vista. This new version has been named as the TATA Indica Vista 90 Quadrajet Aura. As been announced by TATA Motors, the new TATA Indica Vista is going to be launched today, 22nd August 2011. With the launch of this model, TATA would be trying to introduce the premium hatchback series in the Indian market. This new version of TATA Indica Vista is going to be a stylish and modern looking hatchback.
Currently, it would be available in 4 trims and in 4 different colours. The hatchback version of the Indica Vista would be coming as a diesel car with a fuel economy of 16.3kmpl. Especially been designed for the middle class section of Indian society, this car seems to be giving a good start to TATA motors in this segment. The front part of the new version of TATA Indica Vista resembles TATA Indigo Manza. The larger headlamps and the grille give an aggressive look to the new version as compared to the present variant.
With a powerful engine that produces a displacement of 1405cc and a power of 70bhp, this car can give a good competition to the recently launched Hyundai i20. Hyundai also launched its hatchback car in India and after considering its sales figures, its booming business for the car makers. With a little difference in the displacement and power of both these hatchback cars, the pricing can be the determining factor. The new version of TATA Indica Vista has been priced around Rs.4.7 lac, which is less than the price of Hyundai i20.
The diesel variant of the new TATA Indica Vista can create problems for the Hyundai's petrol variant. On comparing the new TATA Indica Vista with the 2010 model, an increase in the pricing can be seen in the new version. The older version has been priced around Rs.4.15 lac and the difference in the pricing is not much. This new version is likely to give the other cars in this segment a run for their money. Talking in terms of similar range of cars, the Fiat Punto diesel is the one of the toughest competitor of the new Vista.
Fiat Punto diesel is also a preferred choice in the available diesel variants. It is packed with all the advanced features and is given a sporty look. The new Indica Vista with 1.3L, Quadra Jet, Common Rail direct Injection diesel engine and 1.2L, 1172cc, Safire petrol engine with MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) technology, excels by a good length. Besides, if price is to be considered than also Indica Vista wins over Fiat Punto by large margins. The pricing of Fiat Punto Diesel is around Rs.6.06lac and this difference in the pricing, adds to the advantage of Vista.
For enhanced safety, the front wheels of Tata Indica Vista have large Vacuum Assisted Independent Hydraulic Ventilated Disc Brakes. On the other hand, the rear wheels of this car are equipped with drum brakes that help de-accelerating this car rapidly. Other safety features of this car include central locking with key, three point ELR seat belts and engine immobiliser. With all these advanced features, all new Tata Indica Vista is going to be a tough competition for Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Ford Figo, among others.
