The trimmed down version of country’s largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra’s entry level sedan Verito was recently spotted testing in Chennai. The car was fully covered in camouflaging, thus the changes at the exterior front not clearly visible. M&M has been working on rolling-out a trilled down version of the Verito sedan in the Indian market with a length of sub 4 meter, so that it can qualify for the lower excise duty applicable on this segment of cars.

Besides carrying a trimmed length, the car is also expected to carry a number of designing and styling changes, as the test mule of the car was covered in camouflaging when spotted testing. With reducing the size of boost, there will be a considerable change in the rear profile of the car including shifting of registration number plate.

The car is expected to be rolled-out only in diesel version with a 1.5L engine borrowed from the existing Verito sedan. With reduction excise duty, it is expected that the company will be decreasing price of the car substantially, which in turn will make it much more competitive against the rivals like Maruti Swift Dzire.
