Skoda Auto is ready to bring the new Skoda Laura RS variant to India early next year. RS Stands for Rally Sports and the model will be a facelifted version of existing Laura. It is expected that the car will be powered with a 200bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine and 170bhp 2.0-litre TDI engine which currently powers Skoda Superb but it will produce more power than the one present in the sedan. The model will be sold as Skoda Octavia RS model in the international market.
The Laura will hit the market only after Skoda launches Yeti at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. “We are proud to present the New Laura, which assures the customers a Perfect 10/10 driving experience. Skoda Auto India has achieved tremendous success since its inception in India and we are looking forward to achieve many more milestones with the support of our valued Indian customers,” said Thomas Kuehl, Board Member, Sales & Marketing, Skoda Auto India. The car is expected to have enhanced aerodynamics as well as sporty interiors and exteriors. There is no word on the release date or the final price of the model in India.
Skoda Auto is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group (VAG) and used to be the leading automobile manufacturer in the Czech Republic.
