American SUV giant Jeep has introduced the new Meridian in India with prices starting at Rs 29.90 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). It is available in five exterior colours across two variants — Limited and Limited (O) variants. That said, the seven-seater Meridian has become the second vehicle to be produced at the Jeep Ranjangaon plant, Maharashtra.

Be it the belt line that resembles the iconic Cherokee or wheel arches reminiscent of other models of the brand, the Meridian bears signature Jeep design language. It features the familiar radiator grille, dual-barrel LED headlights and fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and slim LED rear lights.
The Meridian gets interior styling identical to the Compass with a dual-tone scheme. Further, the cabin comes with a fully digital instrument screen, a 10.1-inch central information hub with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered and cooled front seats, dual-zone temperature control, a nine-speaker Alpine sound system, and a wireless charging pad. Meanwhile, Jeep offers a host of features with the SUV, such as a panoramic sunroof, electric boot opening, six airbags, a 4x4 system, a 360-degree camera setup and so forth.

The Meridian is exclusively powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. This motor makes 168bhp and 350Nm. It competes against the likes of MG Gloster, Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and the Mahindra Alturas G4.
Variant specific prices (introductory, ex-showroom) of the Jeep Meridian are as follow:
Meridian Limited MT 4X2 - Rs 29.90 lakh
Meridian Limited (O) MT 4X2 - Rs 32.40 lakh
Meridian Limited AT 4X2 - Rs 31.80 lakh
