Nissan Motors is planning to bring the Micra sedan model to India which will again be based on Nissan’s V platform. The first sketches of this car based on the Micra’s V-platform have been out since long. Now Nissan has revealed some new low-resolution images of the car revealing full-details of the interiors and exteriors.

A fresh interior is being made available for the Sunny and seems to be a miniature version of the Teana in terms of styling. The first few pictures reveal that the engine under the hood is the Nissan HR15 petrol motor churning out about 110 BHP of power and 148 Nm of torque. This means that the new Nissan Sunny will compete against Fiat Linea and the Hyundai Verna rather than the Tata Indigo Manza and the Maruti Suzuki DZire.

This car will be initially launched in the Chinese markets. It will be available in India by the second half of 2011. The vehicle will be manufactured at the company’s Oragadam facility near Chennai in India. Nissan has made a huge investment for this plant where the Micras are manufactured.

An automatic transmission model is also on cards sometime next year for the Indian roads. The vehicle is expected to be an addition to the Nissan Sunny series, although there are no official confirmations yet.
